Most likely you will have to set the 'Include Skin' property, from the 'General' panel, to true. Normally, when the slider is added to a post or page, the skin's CSS file is automatically detected and included in the header only on the slider's page. However, when using the slider outside the post/page, the WordPress API doesn't give you the possibility to efficiently detect the slider instance added to a page in order to add the necessary CSS file to the header, so you need to specify that you want the CSS file included by checking the 'Include Skin' option.
